Application and Cleaning Methods of Washable Underpads

Many seniors experience urinary incontinence, or a loss of bladder control, sometimes caused by an underlying medical condition like diabetes, certain medications, menopause or an enlarged prostate.

Incontinence is often accompanied by embarrassment, but the overnight bed pads, help keep you and your sleep space dry and clean.

The incontinence underpad can absorbs all fluids, including urine, perspiration and accidental spills. The pad is soft and noiseless for a quiet night’s sleep while safely protecting your mattress.

How do they work?

Just place a reusable underpad on whatever you’d like to protect from incontinence. Use them for tending wounds, changing enteral feeding tubes, changing incontinence products, or just as an extra barrier.

How to wash a reusable underpad?

  1. Once the underpad is soiled, you’ll want to wash it thoroughly so it’s squeaky clean the next time you need it.
  2. Machine wash the underpad as you would any other article of clothing, but make sure to only wash it with other underpads.
  3. Make sure you never wash underpads with more than 85% capacity in the washer and dryer.
  4. Drying time depends on the weight of the underpad – higher absorbency underpads will take longer to dry.
  5. Once the underpad has finished its cycle in the dryer, be sure to take it out within five minutes.
