The big news is that consumers’ expectations about mattress life drop sharply. The expectations was 10.9 years in 2007, while 9.4 years now.

The BSC survey finds that customers expect a new mattress which is more expensive than ever before. According to the International Sleep Products Assn, this is incredibly good news for the bedding industry. A shorter replacement cycle means that more mattresses will be demanded by customers. The mattress manufacturers need to produce more mattresses. There is no doubt that this will boom the bedding industry.

In addition, the BSC survey finds that the young people are prone to replace their mattresses in shorter replacement period than older people. Usually, young people like to try new things and experience life change. They are more willing to receive the benefits of new technologies. If young people get into habits of changing their bedding just like Smartphone every few yeas,  This will bring big opportunities for the bedding industry, giving a big boost to bedding manufacturers.
